Evan Silver is an Emmy-nominated and Cannes winning comedy writer and director. He has received many awards for his film and TV work which continually crosses into mainstream pop-culture. He recently co-executive produced, wrote and directed an original ten-episode comedy series for TBS about internet trolls and directed sketches for Comedy Central's The Daily Show and Drunk History.
Evan received an EMMY nomination for a series of videos he wrote and directed for MTV called “Tu Pride." His work has also received awards from Cannes, ACIP, Webby, Shoot Magazine, Think LA, Glaad and made both Mashable and The Guardian's "Best of The Year List" for his 2015 viral video dealing with racial injustice titled, "White Squad."
When Conan O’Brien was hosting the MTV Movie Awards, MTV asked Evan to direct the in-show comedy sketch “Conan’s Geek Squad" starring Conan, Jamie Fox, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield. MTV also brought Evan in to direct a series of comedy sketches and promotions when Aziz Ansari hosted, and then again when Rebel Wilson took the reigns three years later.
Evan is also known for writing and directing the controversial short video, “REVERSE PARTY” for the infamous UK show “SKINS" when its America remake debuted in the states. The controversial video quickly received millions of views online while creating unprecedented buzz–thus getting picked up by every major news outlet on TV and online across the country. The pilot episode went on to have one of MTV’s highest debuts for a new series ever.
Evan has also written and directed for Comedy Central, Funny or Die, The Daily Show, HBO, IFC, College Humor, Vice, Sundance Channel, Paramount Films, Disney Studios and Fox. He has also worked with some of today’s biggest talents in comedy and entertainment including Cameron Diaz, Jason Segel, Sarah Silverman, Michael Cera, Kristen Bell, Jeremy Renner, Jamie Foxx, Chelsea Handler, Jack Black, Diddy, Mariah Carey and Snoop Dogg.
Evan was born and raised in NY but recently moved out to Los Angles (although his NY accent would like to f’n keep that part quiet).
